[January 10, 2008]
Dear Colleagues!

First and fore all: Happy New Year, in prosperity and health!

The ICAAR website has now been updated with the latest information. The most important news is that the FINAL DEADLINE FOR DRAFT MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION is set at Friday February 01 ultimo midnight local time (GMT+1). Subsequent manuscript deadlines have been updated too; check all deadlines here.

Detailed instructions for correct submission are here.

Another important news feature is that the conference has been extended with one extra day (Friday 20 June), to accommodate the large number of contributions received. The (updated) graph below shows we have received >190 preliminary abstracts from 32 countries, and new authors are still inquiring, almost daily.

Also, check the entirely new page on conference workshops; we are open to suggestions! Also take a peek at the updated tentative program.

Details on registration fees, accommodation options and pre- and post-conference tours will be announced soon on this website, so check back soon.

Best regards,
Dr. Maarten A.T.M. Broekmans,
Editor-in-chief 13th ICAAR 2008

Prof. Dr. Børge Johannes Wigum,
Chairman Scientific Committee 13th ICAAR 2008

Dear Colleagues!

The ICAAR website has now been updated with information regarding submission of manuscripts, extended abstracts and posters.

New pages for Authors instructions and Manuscript submission have been created, and the information on several pages has been updated. Click on the links in the navigation menu on the left to go to the new pages.

Read the information on both new pages carefully, in particular the sections on Guided poster sessions and Journal special issues.

If you have any questions regarding authoring, manuscripts or submission or anything else related to the ICAAR Proceedings, do not hesitate to contact Editor-in-chief Maarten Broekmans.

Good luck writing, and until soon!

Best regards,
Dr. Maarten A.T.M. Broekmans,
Editor-in-chief 13th ICAAR 2008

Prof. Dr. Børge Johannes Wigum,

Chairman Scientific Committee 13th ICAAR 2008

Dear Colleagues!

For your information: six PARTNER project reports have been finalized (2.1 + 3.1-3.5); the seventh and last report 4.1 is currently in preparation. The initially planned summary report (5.1) will be replaced by a presentation at the ICAAR conference, June 2008.

All available reports are free downloadable via this link (spawns a new window), or from the navigation menu on the left. Please contact coordinator Jan Lindgård should problems occur.

[August 9th]

Dear colleagues!

During these not-quite-so-hot Summer days in Norway, the organizers of the 13th ICAAR conference are working hard on a range of major updates for the conference website, expected to be implemented soon.

Until today, we have received 182 abstracts from 31 different countries, as based on country extension from the submitting authors' email (see graph below).

These updates will also include long awaited authors instructions, consisting of a Manuscript Template and a supplementary White Paper describing software settings. Another major issue is submission of manuscripts and the peer-review process, for which we are putting together a complete new site. Some details of these two issues are given below.

The most important authors instructions include:

  • a 10 page limit applies for the complete manuscript, including all text, references, tables and figures, ie. everything and all included;
  • apply a 10pt Garamond font, to save space compared to Times New Roman, free downloadable from our downloads section, www.janthor.de/jGaramond and many other locations;
  • elaborate descriptions of all materials and methods in adequate detail. Be as exact as required, and provide reference where applicable;
  • create separate results and discussion chapters: do not mix observations with their interpretation;
  • figures are to appear AFTER all text + references + tables, ie. NOT in line with text! Minimum resolution of artwork color: 300dpi, greytone 500dpi, B&W 1000dpi. Put scale markers on micrographs!

Regarding submission of full papers, please go to: http://13th-icaar-2008.edmgr.com. Login using your user name and password, and upload your files. MAKE SURE TO SELECT "Full Paper" WHEN UPLOADING!!

All manuscripts will be subject to a peer-review process, for which a 50-head strong Board of Reviewers has been invited.

Good luck writing, and until soon!

Best regards,
Dr. Maarten A.T.M. Broekmans,
Editor-in-chief 13th ICAAR 2008
