SOCIAL EVENTS & SPOUSES PROGRAM

Afternoon stroll along Nordre gate. Thousand years of history
Trondheim has a rich cultural life. The city has a modern theatre with a long history and a well-established position in Scandinavia. The symphony orchestra is also popular and has been on many successful international tours. The city's concert hall, Olavshallen, has excellent acoustics and features top-line performers throughout the year. The Ringve Museum of musical history, housed in beautiful old buildings, has developed into a gem among museums. As a result of the traditional celebration of St. Olav's day at the end of July every year, Nidaros Cathedral has developed into a thriving church music centre. In the city centre you will find that Trondheim is a popular stop for many top music performers.

A social programme will be provided for delegates and accompanying persons.

From Trondheim you can also make a trip along some of our beautiful coastal areas. You can go by ferry or catamaran to the Fosen Peninsula, visit the islands of Hitra and Frøya or the city of Kristiansund, some 200 km south-west of Trondheim.

Only 150 km south of Trondheim by car is the small picturesque city of Røros, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1980. The history of Røros is linked to the copper mines that were developed in the 17th century and exploited for 333 years until 1977.
