Manuscript submission

Click the link in the email sent to you from the editorial system, inviting you to upload your manuscript. Alternatively, click the “proceed to submission” button at the bottom of this page. Both options will redirect you to the Trondheim ICAAR Editorial System, or TIES for short.

Follow the instructions given by the editorial system to upload your files.
Below are some ESSENTIAL directions on how to proceed in submitting your full paper to the TIES website at http://13th-icaar-2008.edmgr.com.

1) First, login to your account using your credentials as below, and make sure to click the “Author Login” button. If you are reviewer as well, check your login role in the on top of the screen, and if necessary change to ‘author’.

2) Under “REVISIONS” click “Submissions needing revision”. THIS IS ESSENTIAL. The number of preliminary abstracts you have submitted as corresponding author is indicated between parentheses.
DO NOT CHOOSE “Submit New Manuscript”!

3) On the left there is a column “Action Links” with several options. Select the title that you wish to work on and click “Revise submission”.

4) On the next page titled “Please select an article type”, select “Full Paper” in the pull-down menu. The page will be updated, now allowing you to upload more than one file.

5) Follow the subsequent submission steps as indicated in the navigation menu on the left. Required fields MUST be completed to move on, optional fields may be left blank.

6) When asked to provide an abstract, simply cut and paste the abstract from your manuscript. The abstract is limited to 150 words, just as in the manuscript.

7) When uploading your files, a range of formats is allowed, though .doc is preferred for text files (not .pdf), and .tif or .gif for image files.

8) When you are finished uploading, proceed to “Next”. You will have to “View Submission” first before you can “Approve” your revised submission. This will make your completed revision available to the Editor-in-Chief for review.

Ad 1): If you accidentally login as Reviewer, the menu options described above will not appear. Change your status using the pull-down menu on top of the page.

Ad 2): ONLY AND ONLY THEN select “Submit New Manuscript” when submitting a n entirely new manuscript for which no Preliminary Abstract was submitted. This applies to only a handful of authors!

Ad 4): Failing to select article type “Full Paper” results in the system allowing you to upload one single file only, whereas you need to upload separate text and multiple image files.

Ad 6): Your Preliminary Abstract will be included in the .pdf for convenience of the editor and reviewers. Providing a revised abstract is OBLIGATORY.

Ad 8): You are at any stage free to change the order in which your uploaded files appear, by clicking on “Revise Submission”. You MUST approve your revised submission to forward it to the editorial office, if not, I won’t even see it.

For the purpose of the peer-review process, the system will then automatically build a .pdf document collating all the files you have just uploaded. When the .pdf is ready, you can check if everything is as you wanted, and make changes if necessary. Finally, you will be asked to approve the file, after which it is sent to the Editor-in-chief. Further instructions are automatically provided by the system during the submission process.

Nota bene: within the editorial system TIES, you MUST approve the .pdf, otherwise it will NOT enter the peer-review process!
